The Half Bath
From a design standpoint, the bathroom presents some of the greatest challenges, but half baths and Water Closets are particularly challenging.
Obviously, the larger the room, the more design options are available to you.
But this doesn’t mean that a small room has to feel crowded and cramped.
Careful planning can make the smallest of these rooms comfortable and stylish, without that the feeling of being in a closet.
Definition
Technically, a half bath contains a toilet and washbasin. It may also contain a urinal and/or bidet, but never a bathtub or shower.
A
Powder Room is a half bath, reserved for guests ... usually near the front door, or some other public area of the house.
The WC or
Water Closet provides the minimum amount of room for one person. It usually contains a single fixture such as a toilet or urinal, or it may have a sink as well. It can be used as a
powder room, part of a larger bathroom, or anywhere that space is at a premium.
