Planning Guide > Selections > Sinks Double Duty Kitchen Sinks
The first of its kind, this innovative appliance uses 50% less water than standard dishwashers, and can run a complete cycle in as little as 18 minutes! One side of this stainless steel, double bowl sink contains a dishwasher with a standard upper rack, cup shelves, extra-large silverware basket and a customizable lower rack with rack inserts. The Briva® can accommodate up to five place settings, including dinner plates up to 11 inches, and provides an overflow capacity to hold large service pieces or pots and pans. Since the dishwasher is located at counter level, it eliminates the need to bend over to stack and unload the dishwasher. The Briva® fits into a sink base cabinet as small as 42 inches wide,.
The Briva® uses a revolutionary FlashDry® technology, which automatically pops the lid open at the end of the cycle, allowing steam to escape to facilitate fast, efficient drying. Lift out the dishwasher racks and spray arm, and the dishwasher becomes a fully functional sink. The extra-deep second sink conveniently holds pots up to 14 inches deep. The dishwasher's steel lid doubles as a place to rest hot pots. The included cutting board fits over the stainless steel cover creating additional preparation space.
The Kohler stainless steel, PRO CookCenter™ eliminates the need to lift and carry heavy pots of water. An 8 quart cooking vessel and controls are integrated into the sink providing all the functions of a standard sink plus any water-based cooking such as, steaming, boiling, poaching, blanching.
The Cook Sink
To use the sink for cooking, just fill it, turn on the heating element and wait for the water to boil. When you're done cooking, push a button and the sink drains - leaving the cooked food in its removable strainer. The cook sink has multiple bulit-in safety mechanisms to turn off the heating element when the water temperature reaches 250°F (121°C), or if it is left unattended.
When the temperature control is in the "OFF" position, the cooking sink can be used as a regular sink. The PRO CookCenter™ requires a 240-volt power circuit and a standard base cabinet, and includes Kohler's PRO cookware especially designed for the PRO CookCenter™.
