Working With a Kitchen/Bath Designer

We'd be delighted to have you stop in anytime to look around and get acquainted. If one of our designers is free, we'll gladly answer any general questions you may have.

No appointment is needed for help with appliances, but our cabinetry sales staff is kept extremely busy, so for detailed questions or kitchen planning we require an appointment. But their time is worth the wait, because they provide extraordinary service.

While we really can't tell you how other kitchen designers work, we can give you detailed information on how what services we offer, and what you can expect from us.

  1. Free Initial Consultation:

    Quote Request Only
If you already have a set of detailed plans or drawings, and are looking for a price quote, bring them in and we'll be happy to give you a quote free of charge. We will trust the measurements provided, and base our quote on what you have given us. We are not responsible for any measurement errors.

    Design Request
Our first meeting will last up to one half hour. This consultation is free of charge and will consist of: brainstorming the project, reviewing the products and services we provide, conceptualizing, talking budget and sharing ideas. (Be sure to bring your idea file and floor plans or blueprints.)

  2. Drawing the Plans:
After the initial consultation, if you decide to have us draw up plans and prepare pricing for you, a design retainer is required. This retainer is a fee and should not be considered a deposit towards purchase. The amount of the fee is determined by the amount of work requested of the designer.

We have two predetermined fee structures:

    DESIGN FEE SCHEDULE
    Type of Cabinet Fee
    Stock/Semi-custom1 $500.00
    Custom2 $750.00
1 "Stock Cabinets" are mass produced cabinets in standard sizes.
Semi-Custom includes stock cabinets with minor modifications.
2- Custom denotes special sizes and configurations.

Note: The above structures are based on an average of five design hours for the semi custom application and eight design hours for the custom application.

    Additional Design Fees:
Fees for a custom kitchen could be greater if amount of design work requested will exceed the norm.

Design requests for multiple rooms or for other than kitchen and bathrooms may require an additional design fee to be determined prior to the design effort.

If the estimated design time will take longer than the standard (5 hours for stock/semi custom, or 8 hours for Custom cabinets) you will notified before the work begins. The actual design work will begin only after you have authorized the additonal time, and paid the design fee.

  3. The Completed Design
Your final design plans include a computer generated floor plan, elevations and one perspective, plus cabinetry description and price quotation.

Once the plans are completed, they become your property.

  4. the Purchase Contract:
The price quotation we give you is good for one year. If anytime within that year you decide to purchase from us, the original kitchen or bath we designed for you, we will apply the amount of your original design fee towards your cabinetry purchase.

Financing arrangements will vary depending on the source of funds.

Delivery times can vary from 3 to 14 weeks, depending on the cabinets selected.

If you are working with a contractor, we will work out any special design considerations with him and coordinate delivery. Dates will be tentative based on manufacturing schedules.

If you do not have a contractor, we can help arrange for installation.
