High Efficient Toilets (HET)
(When Shopping for a new toilet, look for the WaterSense™ label)
Products bearing the WaterSense™ label are generally 20 percent more water-efficient than similar products in the marketplace.
The new high-efficiency toilets (HET) use 1.28 gpf (or less) (maximum of 1.3gpf/4.8-lpf)- an average of at least 20% less water than a standard 1.6 gpf toilet. That translates into a total usage of 2,300 gallons/year per person.
Although they use much less water, these toilets are very efficient. Some new Pressure-Assist single-flush toilets use 1.1-gpf/4.0-lpf and below.
Toilets bearing the
WaterSense™ label, not only use 1.28 gallons or less per flush, but do so without sacrificing performance or design.
Consumers will find HETs available in one and 2-piece toilets and most types of
flushing mechanisms including; Power Assisted, Dual Flush, Electrohydraulic, and Gravity-Fed.
